March 8, 2008 I am extremely confident that I will be back at the clinic, at least part time, every day on Monday, March 31st.However, he wanted me to take it very slowly. So I continued to stay in bed pretty solidly watching TV and being bored through Monday. Then I decided that was it. I began increasing my activity and decreasing my medication. I am still sleeping about twelve hours a day, but I am out of bed about four hours a day now. I run errands with Maria, Walk around the yard, do light rehab and stretching, and play as much as possible with my baby boy without picking him up. I am extremely confident that I will be back at the clinic, at least part time, every day on Monday, March 31st.
The Cabin Fever is overwhelming, but it does help to be able to leave the house and run into town now. Maria says I am a big grump. I am thankful that my grumpiness is due to missing the clinic and all of my patients, as opposed to chronic pain. The leg and butt pain seems to be completely gone since the surgery. The pain I am experiencing now is mainly due to the surgery incision, the parting and cutting of muscles, and the shock my body is in from having that chunk of disc removed from my nerve, and that bit of bone being removed. It looks like I will be back in just over 2 weeks from now. YEAH!!! Thank-you all so much for the prayers, cards, letters, and calls. I appreciate you all and can't wait to get back to work. Love, DR. J. |
