It's all new to us!!!

Hello to all existing patients, future patients, and those interested in theproducts and supplements that we supply. We are brand new to Face Book and Twitter, any one interested is welcome to sign up as friends or fans. We plan on posting supplement specials, clinic news, and important wellness research studies. We have finally realized that the best way to reach people near and far with the valuable information and products that we have access to is through the long arm of the internet. We are confident that everyone will benefit from the studies that we will be posting and updating regularly. Everyone should be able to take at least something from the news we post that is relevant to themselves or someone they care for. We are excited to add you to our clinic family. We end this little note with our thoughts and prayers for all those families and individuals devasted by the earthquake in Haiti. Our thoughts are with you.

He has put the surgery off as long as possible hoping to ease you all into the transition of Dr.’s Kaminsky and Knight leaving and our new doctors, Dr. Redford and Dr. Broe joining the practice. As his range of motion has begun to deteriorate rapidly, Jason has scheduled his surgery for February 15. Please do not worry. He be coming back as soon as possible. However, surgeries of this nature require 1 ½ to 2 months of recovery. It is our earnest request that you please continue to see our new Doctors during Jason’s’ recovery. Both of them should be preferred with all insurance companies, INCLUDING REGENCE.

As soon as he possibly can, Jason will begin to appear as at least a face in the clinic so that he can visit with you. As a physician he understands the value of rehab and will work as hard as he can to return as quickly as humanly possible. He has put his heart into building this practice and plans to be adjusting as usual in no later than 3 months and much sooner if possible. AGAIN, 3 months is the worst case scenario, we are really shooting for 1 ½ months of recovery. This is certainly not the way we hoped to begin the new year but as most of you know accidents happen that require help on the road back to health. Perhaps the blessing of all of this will be Jason’s further ability to empathize with his patients pain. Additionally, his first hand knowledge will have expanded to include all aspects of spinal care, from passive treatment to surgical intervention. This added knowledge and compassion will certainly only add to his abilities as your Doctor. Again, as a clinic that truly cares about your health we urge you to continue your chiropractic care. As a small business, we hope that you will continue to use our facility despite Jason’s absence. Please feel free to discuss the upcoming surgery with Jason during your appointments. WELCOME TO OUR NEW DOCS

As most of you know Dr. Jamie Knight and Dr. Jarrett Kaminsky left our practice this summer to open one of their own in Pennsylvania. Though we were sad to see them leave we are very excited to welcome two new Doctors. They have both been with us for over 3 months and we believe they are the perfect fit for our clinic.

Dr. Charles Redford owned a clinic and practiced for 6 years in Bellingham. He was born and raised in the Skagit Valley. The deteriorating health of his father led Chuck to close up shop in Bellingham and look for a practice closer to his father’s home here in Burlington. Dr. Kitzman and Dr. Redford had been friends since 2000, and as fate would have it SRC’s other Doctors were leaving right when Dr. Redford was returning to Skagit County.

Dr. Redford enjoys playing with his grand children, traveling, and chocolate. Dr. Redford has a lot of history here in our valley and we are happy to think that much of his future will be spent taking care of patients here at Skagit River Chiropractic.

Our newest Doctor, Dr. Justin Broe grew-up in the great Midwest and has always had a keen interest in healthcare and well-being. This led him to a career in biochemistry and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln (UNL) in 2001.

During his studies at UNL he worked as a pharmacy technician where he acquired many insights into healthcare. After graduation he spent two years in pharmaceutical research before his decision to attend chiropractic school in 2004. His past experiences allowed him to build a wealth of knowledge in the latest research in nutritional physiology, biomechanical

physiology and body metabolisms. Dr. Broe pursued his chiropractic education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He implements low force adjusting procedures including Palmer package techniques and the latest researched procedures of flexion/distraction and atlas orthogonal adjusting. As a result, whether you are a weekend warrior or marathon runner, dealing with an injury, or simply want pain relief, Dr. Broe has the clinical skills and background to personalize care for you.

Dr. Broe can't think of a better place to live and work than the Pacific Northwest. This is the perfect place to satisfy his enthusiasm for the outdoors. He will certainly enjoy fishing, skiing, cycling and camping--just to name a few.

Good News For Insurance Patients

Washington State has passed a law that enables all Doctors working in a clinic with a preferred Doctor to also be preferred. This means that if you have Regence, for example, you will be able to see any of the Doctors working at our clinic. Basically, if Dr. Kitzman can see you, either of the other Doctors should be able to as well. As always we are sure there will be the occasional exception, but this should really be helpful when one of our Doctors has no available appointments and you really need to get in for an adjustment. The law is effective as of January 1.
